Stock Coordinator

We are advertising on behalf of our client a highly regarded distribution business for a
Stock Coordinator, to join their busy team
Monday - Friday, 09:00-17:00 (35hrs a week)
The Role:
- Place purchase orders as required to ensure that Key Performance Indicators are met for stock holding and service level, whilst keeping waste below budget.
- Control stock to give the best possible service level, maintaining substitutions.
- Ensure purchase orders are received by your suppliers.
- Ensure that all orders are booked in at Goods In and chase suppliers where necessary.
- Ensure that all relevant stock is available in the Warehouse for allocations to stores.
- Manage and order all seasonal / pre-sell products for relevant categories to ensure the correct quantities of stock are available to fulfil the retailers’ orders.
- Attend stock takes on a rota basis.
- Maintain supplier and order system. Sequence order screens, eliminate and deactivate product codes, and maintain substitutions.
- Liaise with Operations staff to ensure smooth flow through of stock from Warehouse Goods In to the Retailer.
- Provide holiday / sickness cover when required.
- Ensure effective and professional communication with all internal departments and external channels.
- Liaise with the Warehouse Manager to ensure that the Warehouse layout achieves maximum efficiency.
- Adhere to and observe Health and Safety Regulations at all times. Report all hazards or accidents promptly and take reasonable care for your own safety and the safety of colleagues.
- Read and familiarise yourself with the fire evacuation procedure and observe locations of fire exits and assembly points.
- To be aware and focused on “good energy usage” within the workplace to ensure that energy is used efficiently and waste is minimised.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned by your Line Manager and advise on matters affecting the Company’s interest at all times.
Applicants should have:
- The ability to work to tight deadlines;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages;
- Experience of working in a Retail environment would be beneficial, but not essential
