**Role Purpose**

We are looking for an Insight Analyst for Markets and Competitors to join the expanding Insights team, reporting to the Insights Manager.
There is a real appetite to make decisions rooted in research and data, and this role will give you the opportunity to work with lots of different areas of the business and shape the future of our brands and marketing.
You'll be joining a friendly, supportive, and well-respected team that has grown quickly to meet the needs of the business, and you will become the expert in how Greene King compares to others in the hospitality industry and what our competitors are up to.
This is a full time, permanent role based in our Burton on Trent office with agile working which allows you to work from home or even from the pub
**Key Accountabilities**
- Create a clear understanding within the business of the various marketplaces in which we operate
- Develop and maintain performance tracking across multiple markets, with analysis and reporting to relevant business areas and up to Board level
- Carry out in-depth analysis to understand the underlying drivers of market trends, combining data from internal and external data sources
- Update on relevant and interesting competitor activity
- Identify trends, risks and opportunities and translate this into relevant, actionable insight
- Support brand and customer strategy and development across the business
- Work closely with Insight colleagues as well as collaborating with Finance, Pricing, Marketing and Brand teams
- Working across Managed Pubs, leased and tenanted pubs, Hotels and Brewing and Brand

**Person Specification**

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have some previous experience as an Insight Analyst and will have proven analytical problem-solving skills. In addition to your previous experience you will demonstrate the following skills:

- Natural curiosity and desire to investigate what's driving market trends
- A strong interest and passion for the hospitality and pub industry
- Highly numerate with strong Excel skills, but also the ability to communicate in a clear and engaging style to provide stakeholders with actionable insight
- The ability to build strong working relationships, excellent team-working and interpersonal skills
- A customer champion, passionate about understanding customers and innovating to meet their needs
- A positive, tenacious self-starter
- Can evidence the ability to analyse, contextualise and drive true insight from data/research
