To lead small teams while undertaking Roadworker duties to General Operative level. Be able to work to precise levels and requirements in general highway construction work. To support staff and assist the workforce to deliver a safe and well maintained highway network undertake General Highway and specialist work on the County Road Network within the operational area, including annual maintenance activities, works contracts, and for other customers in the locality, ensuring that they are carried out safely. To deputise for Lead Operative.

The General Operative will assist the Superintendent, Area Engineers, the Highway Operation Group Engineer and the team. They will be required to ensure that he undertakes work in a safely, to provide support to ensure the safety of the highway network within the County ensuring a prompt response to identified safety issues.

**Post Details**:
**SALARY - IMPORTANT INFORMATION**: Salary would be pro rata if not working full time hours or 52 weeks per year.
i.e. 37 hours per week / 32.5 per week for School Teachers

**Temporary End Date** (if applicable):
**Location**: Raglan Depot, NP15 2ER, United Kingdom. This may change in the future if the service location needs to relocate. Relocation or disturbance expenses will not be paid if this happens.
