The Quality & Safety Lead within the W&C Division is a key and pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of a safe and effective service.
You must be able to demonstrate a good level of enquiry, excellent communication and exceptional organisational skills. You must have current midwifery registration with the NMC, experience of working within Quality and Safety inclusive of patient safety, risk management and patient experience with effective time management skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
You will lead the governance and risk of maternity services, developing, embedding and promoting robust governance processes and a safety culture. It is essential that you are an experienced midwife with a comprehensive understanding of good governance and risk management. You must be able to present both written and verbal reports to a wide audience and have the ability to work with a range of other professionals both within and outside of our organisation. You will have good communication skills coupled with enthusiasm and innovation in your approach with the ability to engage others.
You will work closely with the Director of Midwifery & Nursing, operational and corporate management teams including staff at all levels in achieving delivery of safe, high quality, effective care to all of those who use our services.

If successful in this role there is a requirement that you will have an enhanced DBS - this will be paid for by the Trust and deducted from your salary over a period of 3 months.
As this vacancy is within the division of Women's & Children's there is a mandatory requirement for successful applicants to join the DBS update service, the cost of joining the update service is £13 per year and applicants are liable to cover this cost with no reimbursement from the Trust.
