Job Purpose: To assist the Shop Manager and assume overall responsibility for the success of the shop in their absence. You will support the Shop Manager in all operational aspects of running the shop. You will ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service. Issues must be dealt with as they arise rather than deferring them to the Manager. Responsibilities - Ensure that consistently excellent customer service is always provided by every member of your team - Inspire, motivate, and energise the team to increase sales - Support the Manager to rectify any individual performance shortfalls via the appropriate Company procedure - Ensure that the visual presentation of the shop is in accordance with Birds brand image - Support the delivery of all marketing campaigns and customer service initiatives as decided by the Company - Develop an effective network of communication with all internal stakeholders - Resolve problems by providing creative and practical solutions - Ensure that the shop is profitable and within budget - Be compliant with Company policies and operational guidelines - Continuously monitor the competition and local market conditions to be able to maintain Birds business advantage - You will have responsibility for all shop security matters in the Manager’s absence - For developmental purposes you will be required to move shops on a periodic basis at the Company’s discretion. You must be flexible with regards to location - You will be fully conversant with all Company KPI’s. Measurements: - You will support the Manager in delivering all Company KPI’s. Applicants must have: - The desire to be a Manager in the future - A sound understanding of shop operational optimisation and standards for success - A basic and practical knowledge of IT - Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities - Qualified to at least GCSE Grade C in English and Maths - A flexible attitude to working hours (to include evenings & 7-day trading)
The hours for this position are:
Monday 7am - 3pm
Tuesday 8.45am - 5.15pm
Wednesday 6.45am - 5.15pm
Saturday 6.45am - 5.15pm
