Role: Team Lead Procurement
Direct report: to VP Head of Procurement
Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
**Salary**: Starting from £50,000 pa, dependent experience, and qualifications plus we offer a fantastic benefits package and annual bonuses.

Role and Responsibilities for our Procurement Team Leader
The Team Leaders’ focus and responsibility will be to oversee all purchasing activities to ensure the smooth running of the supply chain. You will also be responsible for managing the development, training, and recruitment of 8 procurement specialists and buyers across 2 locations within the UK. Along with the responsibilities to the team, you will manage the purchase of a select category of goods/services and lead the QBR’s, performance and contractual negotiations on behalf of the global procurement team.

- Managing and developing the team, overseeing the recruiting, training, and performance.
- Supporting and developing the purchasing processes on-site with the help of the Head of Procurement and the international purchasing team.
- Manage the relationship between procurement, operations, and other enabling functions.
- Support the team by managing escalations and long-standing queries and help to implement process improvements to increase efficiencies within the P2P process.
- Support Buyers with Capex budgeting process working with CC managers and EVP’s
- Providing backup to operative purchasing where required.
- Managing supplier relationships and building strategic alliances with key providers.
- Help support onboarding of innovative technology as and when it becomes available.
- Participate in lean and efficiency projects.

- Complete understanding of the P2P Process and different demand types.
- A Strong problem-solving acumen.
- Experience in leading negotiations for Capex and Opex Projects with Lab Instruments; IT and Engineering
- A high level of understanding of contractual terms and supporting documents e.g. SLAs; SOWs PQQ and RFPs.
- Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel, good numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to work to tight deadlines
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to work autonomously and as an active team member demonstrating a strong ability to collaborate.
- A high degree of self-motivation, reliability, and flexibility.
Education and Experience
- We are looking for a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience within purchasing environment, we are open to sector background.
- BA/BS Degree (or higher/equivalent) in either economics or equivalent with relevant focus OR equivalent relevant industrial or academic experience is expected.
