**Some key requirements we do need are**:
**1.You have a desire to work with people in role to improve people's life**.
**2. Have a valid manual driving licence** (you do not need your own car)
**3.** **Be accepting of difference** and able to cope with people who struggle to communicate and may rely on behaviours that are mentally challenging to you.
**4.** **Are hard working and able to work a flexible rota** as part of a team covering 24 hours per day (including sleeps & weekends) throughout the year.
**5. Can you be fun?** are you willing to get involved and participate in peoples interests and hobbies. This may include physical activities like walking or swimming but also singing, dancing, arts & crafts. This looks different for every person so no two packages of support are the same.
**6. Are you resilient?** Whilst fun and rewarding this role can be extremely challenging and needs a person who can mentally cope with these challenges

You will be supporting individuals in all walks of life; inside the house, in the community and out on activities. Many of the people you will be supporting will be extremely active, doing a range of different activities that can include things like hiking, horse riding and swimming. We therefore need people who are physically fit and will enjoy participating in these activities with the individuals they support.

Part of your role is to support a person during significant emotional issues. This can be challenging but also very rewarding. The right person for the role will be calm, confident and assured to help that person recover in tough moments. On the other hand it’s equally important the right person is fun and positive to help improve the emotional well being of those they support, and get the most from what is an incredibly fun and rewarding role.

The role of a Support Worker is interesting, varied and rewarding and may include supporting people in all areas of their life from waking up and getting ready for the day, helping or teaching them to prepare meals, providing personal care. Helping to access college or work and other day to day activities.

The key role of a Support Worker is to assist every person to lead an engaging and fulfilled life.
