Senior Strategic Consultant

Sagentia Innovation, a division of Science Group plc, is expanding its Medical advisory practice, helping global corporations and disruptive startups find opportunities, define value and innovate in highly competitive markets. We are looking for a SeniorStrategic Consultant to be at the forefront of medical innovation as we grow.
Our practice works at the intersection of user centricity, technical feasibility, commercial viability and sustainability. We provide strategic consulting in technology, R&D and innovation, devising strategies, value propositions, pathways and recommendationsfor how our clients should proceed to maximise the value for their business.
Our work is exciting, and no two projects are the same. Some of our recent work includes:
- Evaluating adjacent market opportunities for a major orthopaedic company
- Uncovering the future of surgical robotics to identify commercial opportunities across different medical specialities
- Developing actionable strategies and roadmaps for a diagnostics company to play and win in digital health
**About you**
- Strong technical or scientific background in Medtech or Life Sciences.
- Educated to PhD and/or MBA level
- Demonstrable track record of success in a Medical consulting or innovative Medical Device R&D environment.
- Enthusiastic about innovation and strategy - you are curious about the future and want to shape it.
- Able to understand clients’ objectives to shape solutions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to tailor your approach to the target audience
- Take the initiative in dealing with clients
- Believe in the power of informed decisions and have the confidence to back them
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment leading multidisciplinary project team
- Flexible, inspired and creative: always looking for new ways to solve problems
- Ability to explain ideas clearly and concisely, creating buy-in to ideas and approaches
- Ability to efficiently deal with multiple tasks and prioritise under pressure
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work
- Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
**Key responsibilities**
As an experienced Strategic Consultant in the medical sector, your core responsibilities will be:
Project delivery:
- Lead and deliver projects: plan for, monitor progress against and meet deadlines with consideration to project scope, evolving client requirements, and potential creep, ensuring client expectations are met
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst achieving project deliverables within budget, timeline and to the quality expected
Support business development and account managers:
- Support business development and marketing activities with practice and industry knowledge
- Work with account management to build rapport and promote our capabilities
- Build effective relationships with clients and help to identify their needs
- Support the development of new proposals and discussions with clients on scope and budget
Grow and further develop our practice:
- Help to define and improve internal processes, methodologies, and tools
- Build effective relationships and support colleagues’ development
- Support to identify gaps on the team to address via recruitment or training
