**Purpose of the Role**:
The Dental Hygienist/Therapist at our newly opened Manchester Clinic will play a key role in preventive oral care, building patient trust, and reducing dental anxiety. This role supports Truly's high standards of clinical governance while contributing to the growth and reputation of a new flagship clinic.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Perform hygiene treatments: scaling, polishing, airflow, periodontal maintenance, and deep cleaning.
- Conduct oral health assessments: gum health, risk factors, soft tissue evaluation.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, nutrition, and prevention of dental disease.
- Collaborate with dentists and clinical staff to align treatment plans.
- Ensure accurate patient record-keeping and compliance with governance and safety protocols.
- Use modern hygiene equipment, ensuring infection control and patient comfort.
- If Therapist qualified: perform fillings and restorative procedures within scope of practice.
- Contribute to patient-centered culture, supporting the team in a new clinic environment.

**Requirements: Competencies & Skills**:
**Education / Qualifications**
- Qualified and licensed Dental Hygienist (GDC registration required).
- Therapist qualification desirable.

**Experience**
- Minimum 2 years of experience preferred.

**Technical Knowledge & Skills**
- Proficiency in scaling, polishing, periodontal maintenance, and airflow.
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols.
- Knowledge of restorative treatments (if Therapist).

**Communication & Interpersonal Skills**
- Empathy and clarity in patient communication, with ability to support nervous patients.
- Strong interpersonal skills with team and patients.

**Other Competencies**
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as required.
- Collaborative, team-oriented approach in a small clinic environment.
