**Product Designer**
Leading UK manufacturer of bespoke solutions offering a complete in-house one stop solution for all design, manufacture and installation, working with major brands Such an exciting time to join this successful market leader.
New vacancy for a full time Product Designer with the following attributes and skillset:
- Qualification in a relevant design discipline
- Highly motivated
- Excellent project management skills
- Confident in using Solidworks, Photoshop and Illustrator
- Excellent organisational, numerical and communication skills
- Keen eye for detail
- Computer literate
- Able to work effectively as part of a team
- Able to work under pressure
- Full UK driving licence
- Flexible and helpful attitude
- Full understanding of sheet metal, wood, acrylic and print materials and their uses/limitations
- Able to prioritise urgent tasks over tasks with longer lead times
**Responsibilities**:
- Processing designs through prototyping and detailed drawings
- Working to agreed project timescales and defined budgets
- Finalising drawings for suppliers, manufacturing or customers
- Creating specifications and bill of materials for our production facility
- Occasionally taking and accurately interpreting customer briefs
- Regularly liaising with sales and production staff to ensure briefs and budgets are being accurately adhered to
The role will be to create high quality presentation visuals of products. Following on from the visual, detailed drawings and specifications for all elements of the design will need to be produced, with excellent attention to detail. It also may include visiting customer sites for on-site surveys and installations.
The successful applicant should have a good knowledge of design for manufacturing. Previous experience in modern manufacturing techniques with metal, wood, acrylic and print would be expected, as the role is both creative and practical.
