Compass Associates are proud to be working with a large independent healthcare provider to recruit for a permanent Senior Wheelchair Therapist to join their team at the Kent & Medway Wheelchair Service Centre based in Gillingham. Our client works closely with NHS and Social Care Organisations providing a complete outsourced wheelchair service that significantly reduces costs, delivers better quality and an enhanced patient experience.

This role is suitable for a HCPC or NMC registered Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist or Nurse who has experience within equipment and adaptations, postural management and/or wheelchair services. Please note, however, that although desirable the this experience is not essential for this opportunity.

You would hold your own caseload of children and adults who have complex mobility, health, postural and social needs and require comprehensive assessments, to provide wheelchair prescriptions and recommendations for equipment/adaptations. In addition to working with service users, you'd provide training to families/carers as well as supervise junior therapists. Although mainly based at the centre, there may be occasions where service users are unable to attend so require a community visit.

You should be a highly motivated individual who is keen to balance their experience of managing a customer focused service with a clinical caseload. Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills combined with the ability to manage a varied workload are essential for this exciting position.

This position is located in Gillingham.

Commutable from Chatham, Rochester, Rainham, Hempstead, Shorne, Cuxton, Snodland, Gravesend, Cliffe, West Malling, Maidstone, Upchurch, Meopham, Sittingbourne, Aylesford.

**Requirements**:
A BSc degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or Nursing
Current HCPC or NMC registration
Previous experience of working at Band 6 level with patients with long term or deteriorating medical conditions
Experience of staff supervision is desirable
Previous experience of assessing for wheelchairs and/or postural equipment is desirable
Previous knowledge of the public sector would be an advantage
Current full UK driving licence is essential
