Yard Operator

Job Title: Yard Operator and Fleet Checker

Hours Per Week: Guaranteed 48 Hours Per Week.

Tuesday - Friday: 0600-1600 & Saturday: 0600- 1400

Job Purpose

NRDC is in the process of receiving a new fleet of Mercedes tractor units and rigids. We as a site are keen to keep these vehicles in a clean and damage free state as a lot of money has been spent on them.

We require the help of a competent Yard Operator who shows willingness to learn and be proactive in noticing and reporting new damage & non-compliance when the vehicles return to site.
- To check all vehicles on return to site and compare them to the drivers check sheet at the start of the shift.
- To report all damage new or old straight to ASW staff.
- To report any issues seen in the yard.
- To check all vehicles are left in a clean (washed) and a tidy state inside.
- Fill in the check paperwork table to highlight which vehicles have been

checked on the day of the shift and handed into ASW. This will be monitored by ASW staff.
- To turn up for every shift and report in asap any issues which could impact not being able to do the shift.
- To assist the site in any work that maybe required from time to time in periods of downtime. This may involve tipping trailers, keeping the yard tidy.
- Checking the empty trailers that are on site
- straps if they are in working and useable condition, reporting any that are found to be defective so they can be replaced.
- Carry out start of shift walk round check auditing and highlighting any non
- conformity.
