Our client a Nursery based in the Aylesbury area is looking for a Nursery Manager. Job Purpose: -- To take full responsibility for the overall management of the Nursery. - To take full responsibility for delivering high quality childcare and education for all children in the Nursery ensuring an Ofsted Outstanding outcome. - To take full responsibility for ensuring the Nursery is fully compliant with all statutory and legislative policies and procedures. - To take full responsibility for business and financial administration. - To take full responsibility for the health and safety and risk assessment practices within the Nursery. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - To take full responsibility for staffing, induction, training, development needs, coaching, staff observation and performance reviews ensuring the safer recruitment procedures and mandatory training requirements are adhered to. - To ensure systems are in place for accurate reporting and monitoring of all business and financial administration matters. - To adhere to occupancy and financial budgets and targets whilst effectively managing all staff wages and Nursery costs. - To ensure the extra-curricular activities meet the requirements of the EYFS and are timely and effective for all age groups. - To ensure the Nursery and all rooms adhere to staff ratios and staff deployment requirements. - To take full responsibility for safeguarding and child protection within Nursery. - To take full responsibility for ensuring that delivery of the EYFS and all aspects of best practice childcare are embedded within the Nursery including cohort tracking, observations of child, room and staff, early years’ outcomes, learning journeys, partnershipswith parents. - To ensure there is appropriate and timely liaison with outside agencies and professionals i.e., Speech and Language, social services, child protection team. - To ensure all accident, incidents, risk assessments and health and safety policies and procedures are robust ensuring a "green" audit outcome. - To work closely with the Nursery SENDCo in all aspects of SENDCo - To ensure the safer recruitment process is adhered to and take responsibility for recruiting, inducting, and training staff. - To complete the weekly rotas and registers for staff and children attendance. - To provide the required policies and procedures and the necessary support, advice, guidance, and information to the Nursery staff team. - To ensure the physical health and well-being of children within the Nursery. - To liaise with all parents, suppliers, external visitors, and the local authority. - To take responsibility for dealing with complaints or concerns raised by parents. - To order food, supplies, consumables, and equipment to ensure the effective operation of the Nursery. - To complete accurately the monthly payroll spreadsheet adhering to the cut-off date - ensures correct reporting of sickness and holidays. - To market the Nursery appropriately including joint responsibility for the updating of the Nursery web site pages. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE - Minimum 2 years’ post qualification experience - Minimum Level III or equivalent - Relevant childcare and Safeguarding and Prevent qualifications in accordance with OFSTED guidelines - Thorough understanding and knowledge of childcare and safeguarding and Prevent legislation Excellent communication skills.
