**SEN Teaching Assistant**

I am seeking actors with a passion for SEN and making a positive change in students’ lives

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting students with a range of SEN needs, including but not limited to Autism, Social and Emotional Mental Health, Severe and Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (SLD/PMLD)

**What do I need?**
- Experience working with Theatre in Education (TIE) or drama workshops with children and young people
- Genuine personal interests in supporting children and young people with additional needs
- A positive, proactive and patient can-do attitude and willing to learn
- Being able to build up good working relationships with students and staff members

**What will I be doing?**
- Supporting children with Autism/ASC, complex needs and Severe to Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (SLD/PMLD)
- Assisting the class teacher with planning, preparing and delivering learning activities as well as monitoring and assessing children’s achievement and progress
- Actively involved in a wide range of activities, promoting the physical, cognitive, cultural, social and emotional wellbeing of the pupils
- Actively interacting with children through play-based and sensory-related activities
- Some of our students are non-verbal and with such a wide range of learning difficulties. Students are supported by a multidisciplinary team including Physiotherapists, Art Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists. Some students may also have physical disabilities and are wheelchair users.
- Being able to use Makaton (sign language) or PECs are ideal
- Personal Care (feeding and toileting) and hydrotherapy are required as this is a part of the job
