**The Role**

As we continue to strengthen our Oil and Gas sector portfolio we are looking for an experienced Subject Matter Expert to join our growing team in Europe. Reporting to the Chief Subject Matter Expert, the Asset Integrity Subject Matter Expert (SME) possesses the knowledge and expertise in the Mechanical Integrity (Static Equipment) and Fabric Maintenance field and is clearly able to communicate this knowledge to internal and external stakeholders.

You will be a trusted partner to both internal and external stakeholders, guiding teams to ensure both Abyss and client objectives are understood and accurately reflected in offers and during project execution.

This role will require you to travel for internal and client meetings where you will provide input to scope definition and clarity about Abyss solutions and there impact on client operations.

**Key Responsibilities**

The responsibilities of the Asset Integrity SME are to ensure the facts and details are accurate so that the Company’s deliverable(s) will meet the needs of the stakeholders, legislation, policies, standards, and best practices. To achieve this, SMEs will:

- Accurately represent the Company’s objectives to the project teams and clients.
- Validate the requirements and deliverables that describe the product(s) or service(s) that the Business Development professionals or product teams produce.
- Provide expert collaboration and case studies pertaining to the support of the project mission and client vision.
- Provide input for the design and construction of test cases and scenarios and may also validate executed test results.
- Provide input into and execute user documentation and training material.
- Test the product(s) or service(s) towards the end of the project/program (user acceptance testing), using and evaluating it for accuracy and usability, providing feedback to the project team.
- Guide other team members on the project to ensure the content is accurate.
- Resolve issues relevant to project deliverable(s) within their area of expertise.
- Be committed to the Abyss Solution and participate in relevant workshops and product conversations.
- Be initiative-taking and engaged during all workshops and product conversations.
- Assist regional business development professionals in client support and expertise driving conversation in understanding industry and client pains.
- Work with Chief SME to define performance objectives and determine acceptable performance levels.
- Provide recommendations for procedural and product/solution improvements.
- Function as the trusted expert within a department or function in relation to questions and problems within the Asset Integrity Field.

- Technical Competencies:_
- Possess vast knowledge of current industry standards and local jurisdictional objectives.
- Possess problem solving mindset in relation to industry damage mechanisms both internal and external.
- Understand the language and terms in the Asset Integrity field as to communicate effectively with client experts.
- Possess requisite knowledge that underlies effective decision-making and can describe where anomalies or flaws may occur in the decision-making process of the Asset Integrity field.
- Function as the trusted expert within a department or function in relation to questions and problems within the Asset Integrity Field.
- Be able to clearly articulate various Asset Integrity strategies to personnel within the organization as well as potential clients.
- Clear understanding in how activities are performed in the Asset Integrity field and most importantly why the activities are performed.
- Understand all detection technologies and techniques in relation to probability of detection (PoD)
