Iucs Non Clinical Trainer

Be part of something amazing Dorset Integrated Urgent Care Services (DIUCS) provides a streamlined urgent care pathway across the county, to help patients access the advice or treatment they need more quickly and the best use of local NHS resources.
Delivered through an innovative and collaborative approach with primary care and Dorset’s NHS Foundation Trusts, the service brings together NHS 111, a new clinical assessment service, non-core hour’s primary care, a single point of access for professionals, urgent care treatment centres, minor injuries units and night nursing services. We are leading the way and establishing new and joined up ways of working right across the Dorset System and we need more clinicians to help us achieve our vision.
Joining us as an IUCS Non Clinical Trainer (Band 4) will provide you with a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by working for an organisation dedicated to delivering safe, responsive and patient focused service to people requiring healthcare advice and assistance. The NHS 111/CAS is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The DBS levies a charge of £40 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments.
Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service and are able to present a valid DBS certificate will not incur a charge
Your role will be based at the NHS 111/CAS Clinical Hub, St. Leonards, Dorset though travel to other Dorset HealthCare sites may be required.
You must meet the personal specification requirements for this role.
You will be responsible for delivering non-clinical training ( including NHS Pathways) to new and existing staff, providing coaching support and advice to support them whilst also ensuring a consistently safe, responsive and patient-focused service to those requiring assistance from the Integrated Urgent Care Service. You will work with other healthcare professionals to ensure the patient receives the most appropriate care.
You will deliver high quality training and as required perform telephone triage assessments for members of the public. You may manage calls from Healthcare Professionals and support IUC Health Advisors.
The service operates 24/7 and the post holder will be required to work a range of shifts. All colleagues within the service work collaboratively to cover the increase in demand over the known busy periods, such the festive period and bank holidays.
You will be line managed by the IUC Learning and Development Officer who will offer support and development for you to excel in this exciting role.
At Dorset HealthCare we’re on a mission to empower people to make the most of their lives through our outstanding, joined-up healthcare services. We’re a dynamic, forward-looking Trust, running 12 community hospitals, specialist inpatient facilities and a wide range of integrated community and mental health services for a population of almost 800,000 people.
We do things differently here - it’s one of the reasons the CQC rated us ‘outstanding’ in 2019. It’s also why 95% of patients across our services say they have a good or very good experience of our services and 89% of staff feel they can really make a difference. Whether you’re looking to work with us in one of our bustling market towns, vibrant urban locations, thriving seaside spots, or among the rolling hills of Dorset, there are lots of ways you can make a difference in our communities.
Our 7,000-strong workforce is at the heart of what we do and our success is a testament to our brilliant people. We're all about building a workplace for the future, we believe in equal opportunities and we celebrate diversity. We’re an inclusive workplace, where everyone is welcome, everyone can be authentic, and we are all encouraged to be the best version of ourselves.
Working with us you’ll be part of a strong team, challenge yourself, build a career, and teach us what we don’t know. And you’ll be working towards our vision to be better every day through excellence, compassion and expertise in all we do.
