Would you like the opportunity to work in a specialist Veteran mental health team and help former servicemen and women deal with mental health conditions like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression? We are an expanding and exciting specialist service within SPFT, working regionally in the South East (across Kent, Surrey and Sussex) and nationally as part of the NHS armed forces networks for Op courage.
**We have**:
- 2 x 12-month fixed term post available to cover a staff sabbatical starting as soon as possible.
- 1 x substantive post to expand our psychological therapy team.
We are looking for an experienced psychologist or psychological therapist to join our lively and passionate mental health team; supporting veterans and reservists presenting with mental health problems and their families. Some of our team have a personal connection to veterans, either with a military background or holding a close relationship with someone who does.
As part of the Op Courage psychological therapy team (formally called complex treatment service CTS), you will be involved in delivering evidence based NICE compliant psychological therapies to veterans and reservists from every Armed Forces service. We currently offer a hybrid model of virtual and in-person therapy sessions with satellite clinics in Kent, Surrey and Sussex.
As part of the wider team you will be involved in multidisciplinary team discussions to offer psychological formulations to guide patient care.
You will be an ambassador and act as an advocate to support the veteran community.
We encourage flexible working. We know that a positive work/ life balance brings about huge health-related benefits, which has a positive impact on the care we provide. Please speak to us about flexible working, for example, home-working, part time hours, flexible start/ finish times or anything else. If it works for you and works for the role, we'll do our best to make it happen.
