**What Does a Junior Estimator Do?**

A junior estimator is responsible for supporting and assisting the senior estimating team, calculating the cost of materials that is required for a contract to be successfully completed.

A junior estimator is responsible for preparing initial cost estimates for the needed services, using in house systems to calculate the materials needed and cost of work, developing price schedules and examining or analysing the technical aspects of a project. It also includes providing correct and accurate estimation or calculation of expenses that are required for the construction and completion of a particular project.

**Your duties will include but will not be limited to**:

- Carefully reviewing and examining data and documents such as analysis reports and in house systems to generate quotes.
- Collecting and gathering the information that will be used to produce project estimates.
- Coming up with correct and accurate cost information that is required for construction projects.
- Forecasting how long it will take to complete a particular project.
- Preparing quantity and cost estimates for multiple construction projects.
- Identifying and evaluating all technical issues that are related to a particular project.
- Planning and organising, and estimating work assignments, as well as other tasks as required by the management.
- Visiting project sites and attending client meetings.
- Analysing and determining productivity.

**Person specification**:

- Clear understanding of wanting to have a career within the construction industry.
- Be able to demonstrate advanced IT skills.
- Numerically proficient.
- Give examples of having to be accurate with data.
- Excellent communication skills.

**Package**:
We are offering a full training course where you will be coached and mentored by the senior members of staff on the Estimating team. Within time a clear progression path is available for the right person to become a senior estimator. The hours are Monday to Friday. 07:30 to 16:00 or 8:30 to 17:00.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £21,000.00-£24,000.00 per year
