**About the Role as a Junior Merchandiser/Buyer**

Reporting into a European Merchandiser you will play a significant role by partnering with them to establish and execute business strategy.? You will be responsible for driving your category through the product life cycle. Specific responsibilities includefinancial planning, bottom line profit and loss, development of new product, and evaluation of existing styles. You will work closely with Design, Creative and Inventory teams to ensure that product and concepts are ‘in country’ specific and brand right withthe focus on alignment with the Lands’ End Customer.?

**What you can expect as our new Junior Merchandiser/Buyer**

Your duties will include:

- Category & product planning through selection from the US range, under the supervision of a Senior Merchandiser.
- Understanding the market/country differences between European countries and be able to optimise the country range plan accordingly.
- Financial Reporting - Regular reporting on sales, margin, and profit performance across your product categories with recommendations and actions
- Partner with the European Merchandiser and Planning team to agree buy volumes.
- Develop strong working relationships with all key functions to support the Go to Market process.?
- Complete sales and trend analysis.?
- Complete competitive shopping, customer and competitive insight and feedback for your category of responsibility.??
- Develop and maintain knowledge of German & UK markets.???
- Returns reduction analysis/strategy for your division.?

**What we expect from you as our new Junior Merchandiser/Buyer**:

- Exceptional communication and presentation skills (the ability to tell the story)
- Accountability for a category and/or product development.
- Demonstrate substantial creative or analytical ability and financial/business acumen, with the ability to make recommendations that are consistent with the brand or ‘in country’ direction.
- A flexible approach and the ability to reactive positively to changing business needs is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills as there is frequent communication with your key business partners (with the ability to influence, negotiate, prioritise and make decisions).
- A commitment to learning and gaining knowledge of our customers and European markets.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently on a daily basis with regular reporting and inspire others to achieve the same level of performance.
- The ability to multi-task and prioritise efficiently ensuring delivery of a consistently high level of quality service.
- Strong analytical, numerical and excel skills.
- 3+ years Retail Merchandise experience in the clothing industry, catalogue and internet experience is a plus.
- Proven experience of working cross functionally preferably from a remote location.
- Operated in roles where reaction to business sales trends was required.
- Experience of multi-channel retail clothing, including online and catalogue.
- Degree in a related field and/or a professional qualification in fashion.?
