**Who are we looking for?**

Burton and South Derbyshire College are seeking to appoint a Catering Technician to work within our Hospitality and Catering department. The successful post-holder will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.

If you have a background in Hospitality and Catering, an understanding of the “behind the scenes” essential running of a kitchen, with a good understanding of Food Safety, COSHH and Health and Safety, then we would like to hear from you.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Prepare and layout equipment and food for classroom demonstrations and lessons
- Overseeing the maintenance and cleanliness of kitchens, equipment, and general storage and labelling in line with EHO requirements
- Placing daily food orders
- Controlling stocks of food and consumable products/chemicals, stock control in liaison with budget holder
- Maintaining the food and consumable stock levels through the department
- Order and process new equipment
- Maintain inventories for departments
- Liaise with suppliers over new product lines
- Assist Curriculum Team Leader with budget/expenditure
- Maintain area H&S requirements, including COSHH regulations where appropriate, and keep up to date with current legislative requirements.
- Update existing Risk Assessments for all activities
- Liaise with department regarding EHO visits
- Arranging repairs maintenance contracts for equipment
