We have an exciting opportunity to join our Work-Based Learning Team as an HGV Assessor delivering New Standards Apprenticeships covering **Wolverhampton, Coventry **and **Manchester**, this will mean travelling to numerous locations to visit workshops and learners. **A **current full UK Drivers Licence (with full access to a vehicle) is required.**

We are an Ofsted Outstanding provider offering a variety of education options to young people.

You will be required to carry out all duties in accordance with the Education Inspection Framework requirements and organisational processes and policies.

As an HGV Assessor, your role and responsibilities will include;
- Achieve company and individual KPI’s
- Conduct 2nd stage sign up procedures as required
- Plan individual learning to meet learners' ongoing and changing needs.
- Develop the abilities, knowledge, skill, behaviours and confidence of each learner through coaching, training and assessment, supporting learners’ ability to work confidently, effectively and independently in life and work as part of the apprenticeship programme.
- Empathise with, engage and motivate learners across the programme.
- Support the implementation and development of functional skills with learners using the Functional Skills marking strategy and embed Functional Skills throughout the apprenticeship programme.
- Work collaboratively with all parties using verbal and well-written reports to ensure accurate and timely progress reviews are completed.
- Regularly quality check and maintain on E-portfolio the ‘off the job training records and ensure they formulate a complete record of a minimum 20% of apprentices' paid hours.
- Regularly assess learner progress to awarding organisation, End Point Assessment and Ofsted/CIF criteria.
- Plan, prepare and deliver vocational training alongside employer business needs and in line with employer/Nova agreed training contracts.
- Ensure that learners are involved in the decision-making process, either as individuals or in groups through reviews, learner voice forums, surveys.
- Take an active part in team meetings, curriculum development and standardisation across all programmes.
- Develop delivery in order to maximise progression opportunities for learners.
- Managing resources and ensuring the security of equipment and materials.
- Keep learner records accurate and up to date following compliance with Nova, funding body and Ofsted requirements.
- Ensure that all aspects of HASAW are understood, maintained and extended to learners.
- Ensure that NOVA’s policy on Equal Opportunities is implemented at all times.
- Ensure that Nova’s policy on Safeguarding is implemented and strictly adhered to at all times.
- Cover for absent staff.
- Contribute to the ‘Self-Assessment Process’ by attending meetings and working within the guidelines of the Common Inspection Framework
- Demonstrate high levels of professional conduct at all times and abide by all Nova policies as referred to in the employee handbook and communication strategy.
- There is a mandatory requirement for all staff to attend 2 ‘away days’ with Nova per year

**Essential Requirements**

To be considered for this role, you must have the following;
- Relevant vocational and industry experience and qualifications as appropriate for the area of delivery (HGV Maintenance)
- At least 3 years of industry occupational competence.
- Level 3 vocational qualification (or evidence of occupational competence) TA element of TAQA (or A1)
- GCSE grade C or above or equivalent in literacy, numeracy, ICT skills.

**Desirable Skills/Experience**
- Be able to work to deadlines/targets and under pressure
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- To work flexibly and to have a creative approach to meeting targets.
- Current full UK Drivers Licence (with full access to a vehicle)
- Previous experience working in an education setting would be preferred
