Care Assistant for Adults with Learning Disabilities

Dramatize is a life skills and support centre for adults with learning disabilities based in Ashford, Surrey. Our aim is to ensure that we support our young adults to lead a fulfilling and meaningful life and to reach their full potential. We are currently seeking a Care Worker to join our team who enjoys working in a lively, fun, caring and sometimes challenging environment, undertaking a variety of tasks with young adults with learning disabilities.

Responsibilities: The role is varied and rewarding.
- To support our students to express their needs, choices and goals.
- To promote choice and independence for our students.
- To support our students either one - one or within small groups.
- To ensure that you are a positive role model for our students.
- To ensure you provide our students with varied, challenging and enjoyable activities whilst promoting choice and independence.
- To approach your role in an innovative and holistic way.
- To promote positive teamwork with your colleagues and outside professionals by guaranteeing all situations are approached in a positive, open and empathetic way ensuring our students are at the forefront of every decision.
- To ensure a positive work ethic with excellent time management skills.
- To provide personal care to our students whilst maintaining their independence and dignity.
- To administer medications in a safe and competent way.

- To have a passion for promoting our student’s independence and opportunities.
