**Purpose of Role**:
As a key member of the Academy Team, the Senior Learning Specialist will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. You will design, deliver, and manage learning programs that equip both new hires and existing colleagues with the skills and knowledge they need to excel in their roles. You will partner closely with stakeholders to identify learning needs, develop training solutions, and evaluate the effectiveness of learning interventions across all levels of the business. You will spend a minimum of 2 days per week in Daresbury with regular travel to other regional offices in Peterlee and Nottingham to support the delivery of essential colleague training.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Learning Strategy Development**:
Collaborate with senior leadership to design and implement a learning and development strategy that aligns with business goals, promotes employee engagement, and supports organisational growth.

**Program Design & Delivery**:
Create and roll out a variety of learning programs, including onboarding, technical skills training, soft skills development, leadership workshops, and specialised role-based training.

**Learning Needs Analysis**:
Work with stakeholders to identify skills gaps and prioritise training needs across all areas of the business. Conduct learning needs analysis and regularly assess performance metrics to align learning initiatives with business objectives.

**Learning Technologies & Tools**:
Leverage learning management systems (LMS), e-learning platforms, and other digital tools to deliver combined learning experiences. Continuously explore new technologies and methods to enhance learning.

**Content Development**:
Design, implement and facilitate open enrolment courses (customer service, communication, leadership) for individual contributors, emerging leaders and leaders.

**Cross-functional Collaboration**:
Partner with HR, operational teams, and other business units to ensure learning initiatives are effectively integrated into day-to-day business processes.

**Change Management Support**:
Act as a change agent, supporting the business through periods of transition by developing training that addresses the evolving needs of employees and the business.

**Leadership Development**:
Design and implement leadership development programs that help build management and leadership capabilities across the business.

**Desired Background**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Learning & Development, Education, Human Resources, Instructional Design, or a related field would be beneficial (CPLP, ATD, CIPD).
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in the L&D field with a focus on integrating learning technologies and modern instructional design.
- Expertise in learning management systems (LMS), e-learning authoring tools, and digital content creation platforms.
- Familiarity with learning theories and instructional design models.
- Strong understanding of current and emerging L&D technology trends such as AI in learning, gamification, mobile learning, and virtual/augmented reality.
- Ability to leverage data and analytics to measure learning effectiveness and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in video production, microlearning content creation, and social learning platforms.
