We’re seeking Assistant Practitioners to join us on a system wide pilot in Norfolk to improve the services we can collectively offer to children, young people and their families.

Norfolk Start for Life (SfL) allows families to access a variety of services through a single offer working with a range of partners, parents, and carers. Our goal is to launch an innovative workforce pilot to test the introduction of two new roles to work alongside existing health and care professionals and to support this being rolled out.

Implement programmes of care (including advice) such as infant feeding support with or alongside maternity or Early Child and Family services (ECFS) to families with additional vulnerabilities, offering the SfL Assistant Practitioner (AP) a unique career development experience that allows for joint learning and the identification of novel ideas for shared delivery approaches

Supporting delivery of mandated key contacts such as 6-8 week contact and the 1 year review

Be supported by the SfL operational lead to ensure needs assessment of families are met.

Making a holistic assessment of the child(ren)’s developmental progress drawing on a range of facts or situations to analyse and agree levels of intervention required with caseload holder to optimise developmental and social/emotional progress.

Supporting families in providing an innovative and high-quality service in a community and system that enhances client care and promotes child and family wellbeing.

Act as first contact to parents in outreach locations ensuring a high standard of client care.

Liaise regularly with the SfL team and core workforce partners to assist in the co-ordination, development, and quality-improvement of the service.

Hold awareness of the increasing vulnerability of this defined project caseload.

Participate in regular management, clinical, safeguarding and group supervision and team training.

Always ensure safety and dignity of service users.

To promote the use of digital resources on Just One Norfolk to enhance self-care skills for children, young people, and their families.

To confidently utilise virtual platforms in assessments, interventions, training, and networking to support effective practice and partnership working.

To write clinical records in a concise, accurate and timely manner in line with Cambridgeshire Community Services record keeping policy.
