To contribute to the Department’s aim to provide high quality learning and assist in the development, organisation and delivery of the curriculum area of the Department

**Key Responsibilities**:

- To deliver GCSE English and Functional Skills to 16-18 learners and adults (daytime and/ or evening)
- To produce sequencing documents, lesson and assessment plans, learning materials and any other related activities that impact on the effectiveness of learning
- To help co-ordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out by the course team
- To communicate assessment and timetable arrangements to the course team and students
- To work pro-actively to forward the success and vision of the department

**Skills, Knowledge and Expertise**:

- Level 4 qualification in English or other related qualification
- A teaching qualification (or a willingness to work towards)
- Demonstrate knowledge of the GCSE English syllabus 2.0
- Demonstrate knowledge of the Functional Skills English syllabus
- Demonstrate an understanding of diverse strategies for the teaching, learning and assessment of English skills
