Happydays UK are an expanding charity who provide intensively supported accommodation for the homeless or people who are at risk of homelessness. We also provide light touch support through our move on properties for those who are stable and ready to sustain their own tenancy. Our support work is relationship focused with the ability to build trust underpinned with firm boundaries.

Building a community is at the heart of what we do, whether this is in our food provision, Winter Shelter, intensively supported accommodation or our move on sites.

We are looking for an innovative, motivational, and compassionate individual to lead our food services team. The successful person will be dynamic and have the excellent organisational skills required to deliver our food services.

**PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND TRAINING**
- Food Hygiene Level 3
- Knowledge of environmental health standards and legislation
- Leadership experience
- Have basic financial/commercial understanding
- Be compassionate and have a heart for charity work.
- Great communication skills and a confident manner, with the ability to build excellent relationships with the adults and families at risk that we work with
- Have a passion for fantastic customer service and a hands-on management style
- Self-motivated and able to encourage your team to succeed
- Good IT skills in order to create and maintain accurate and timely records and information

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES**
- Responsible for recruitment, selection, retention, training, and monthly supervision of employees working in the Food Services Department
- Create a welcoming space where adults and families at risk feel able to access our food poverty services
- Lead the transformation the Food Bank, Free Cafe, and Food Givers Programme
- Project manage the development of two new projects, a community supermarket and food distribution hub
- Schedule employee and volunteer hours, assign duties and provide inspirational leadership.
- Accountable for ordering of food, equipment, and supplies
- Accountable for Food Services Budgets and costs including all project costs
- Accountable for Food, Health, and Hygiene Standards
- Responsible for leading your team of volunteers and employees to deliver a relationship focused service for Adults and Families at Risk
- Signpost clients to Support Workers where appropriate
- Responsible for creating a safeguarding culture and raise any concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead
- Provide risk assessments for food related activities and projects
- Lead your team to deliver environmental health standards in all food projects
- Provide volunteering opportunities for Happydays residents
- Responsible for the monitoring and evaluating of food services outcomes
- Attend the Calderdale Food Poverty Forum and build relationships with external stakeholders to support people in food poverty.
- Create eligibility criteria for all food services and work with the drop in Support Service Leader to address the reasons for needing to access theses services and provide longer term help for people to get out of food poverty.

**Please note this is not a full and exhaustive list of duties and the post holder will be required to undertake additional tasks in order to conduct this role appropriately and effectively.**

As travel will be necessary on occasion it is essential you will have your own vehicle, hold a full driving licence and be insured for work purposes

Your will be required to undertake Safeguarding Level 3 training within one week of commencing the role, the training will be provided by Happydays.
