Myers Group have an exciting opportunity for an engaging, self-motivated and enthusiastic Health & Safety Advisor to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Based at our Head Office but travelling to all our sites across West Yorkshire, you will be working for the Yorkshire-based and family-owned Myers Group of Companies which supplies construction products and services across the region which include:

- Myers Building & Timber Supplies - Supplying Building Materials, Timber, Plumbing & Heating Supplies, Kitchens & Bathrooms to the Trade & DIY consumers from 15 Branches
- Readymix Huddersfield - Supplier of Readymix Concrete, Concrete Interlocking Blocks and Volumetric Concrete Services
- Johnsons Wellfield - Quarry and Supplier of Aggregates & the Highest Quality Dimension Stone for Prestigious Projects, as well as an Inert Landfill
- Myers Skip Hire - Supplier of Waste Disposal & Road Sweeper Services

The successful applicant will receive a competitive salary up to £38,000 plus fantastic benefits including:

Hours - Monday to Friday - 8am to 5pm (flexible)

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Developing, implementing, and maintaining effective health and safety policies, procedures and systems.
- Conducting regular inspections, audits and risk assessments to identify hazards and potential risks.
- Providing advice and guidance to employees and site managers on health and safety matters.
- Monitoring compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Investigating incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and providing recommendations for preventive measures.
- Supporting our Training Team, Deliver training programs and toolbox talks to raise awareness and promote a safety-conscious culture.
- Collaborating with project teams to ensure health and safety considerations are incorporated into project planning and execution.
- Keeping up-to-date with industry developments, emerging trends, and legislative changes related to health and safety.
- Maintaining accurate records and reports on incidents, inspections, and safety performance.

Skills and Attributes we’re looking for:

- NEBOSH General Certificate
- Experience in H&S role (a minimum of 2 years)
- Knowledge of Mobile Plant, Fixed Plant and/or similar industries Beneficial buy not Essential.
- Confidence in ensuring compliance with regulatory servicing and inspection requirements of plants & machinery.
- Experience of conducting and reviewing risk assessments
- Understanding of Legal requirements
- Good understanding of IT packages and online user systems
- Willing and able to take a hands-on approach
- Excellent writing skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to plan and distribute workloads for self and others.
- Must be self-motivated and have strong interpersonal skills.
- Must possess excellent organisational skills and good time management.
- Must be self-driven, genuine with a positive, ‘can do’ attitude and clear focus.
