**Kitchen Brunch Team Member Role Description**

**30+ hours per week over 5 days**

Department: Kitchen Operations

Reports to: House Manager

**Role Overview**

A Brunch Kitchen Team Member is responsible for preparing high-quality dishes in accordance with the menu and maintaining a clean, safe, and organised kitchen. This role requires strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and teamwork to ensure the smooth operation of kitchen services.

Key Responsibilities

1. Food Preparation:

- Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to the menu and recipe specifications.
- Ensure food is prepared to meet quality, portion, and presentation standards.
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, such as chopping, marinating, or portioning, as needed.
- Support menu development by offering suggestions for specials or improvements.

2. Kitchen Operations:

- Maintain a clean and organised workstation, including tools, equipment, and surfaces.
- Follow proper food storage and labelling practices to ensure freshness and minimise waste.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Assist with inventory management, including stock checks and notifying management of shortages.

3. Health and Safety:

- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards to prevent cross-contamination and ensure customer safety.
- Comply with kitchen health and safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean kitchen environment by participating in regular cleaning schedules and deep cleaning tasks.

4. Team Collaboration:

- Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of meals.
- Communicate effectively with FOH staff to handle special requests or resolve issues promptly.
- Support colleagues during busy periods and assist in training new kitchen team members.

Key Skills and Competencies

Culinary Skills: Proficiency in cooking techniques, food preparation, and presentation.

Attention to Detail: Ability to follow recipes and presentation guidelines precisely.

Time Management: Capability to work efficiently under pressure and meet service deadlines.

Teamwork: Strong collaboration skills to maintain smooth kitchen operations.

Adaptability: Flexibility to handle changes in menus, customer orders, or service demands.

Health and Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with food safety standards, kitchen hygiene, and equipment handling.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a kitchen or culinary role is preferred.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Certified in Food Allergy and Intolerance.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

- Quality, taste, and presentation of prepared dishes.
- Consistency in meeting food safety and hygiene standards.
- Efficiency in food preparation and service during peak hours.
- Contribution to maintaining a clean and organised kitchen.

Pay: £12.21 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
