The Fostering Support Worker is an exciting and important role involving a range of tasks working directly with children and young people, Foster Carers, and other professionals to ensure quality outcomes for children/young people.
As the Fostering Support Worker you will be involved in participation events with the children, where you will be coordinating group work and activities within a skilled focused way as part of their agreed programme, supporting the hybrid working team inpreparing the children and young people for their foster care placements and promoting the health and wellbeing of the children and young people.
You will support families throughout Cornwall.
The organisation is looking for someone who will always be thinking of the child, ensuring they are at the forefront of all decisions, who will be able to work as a team and able to communicate with children and adults. Experience of working in the fosteringsector and/or with children/young people would be an advantage but not necessary. No formal social work qualifications are necessary, but an understanding of and empathy for the work required is necessary.
The Fostering Support Worker will need to be able to drive for this role and have access to a car and be flexible as you may need to work occasional evenings and weekends and be committed to therapeutic training.

**The Team at Truro**
They are a friendly growing team of 13, and are looking for a new Fostering Support Worker to join their family. They work from a spacious, well-maintained office in Truro and their service covers Cornwall ?and the surrounding areas. In line with their growthand development strategy their service is rated GOOD by Ofsted. ?Their team benefits from local knowledge and promotes a sense of 'family’ among their carers. Equality and collaboration are important, so they regularly meet with carers to hear their viewson the service. ?
**Hours ?**
This is a Full Time Role of 37 hours per week
Monday to Thursday 9:00am -17:00pm and Fridays 9:00am - 16:30pm
You will need to be flexible for this role as you may need to work weekend & evenings
You will be expected to be in the office as a minimum of 2 days per month

**Requirements ?**
- Good written and IT skills
- Able to communicate with children, colleagues, and external customers
- Able to actively listen to others
- Valid Driving Licence
- Have the Right to Work in the UK
- Therapeutic direct work with children, young people and carers preferred but not essential as training given
