Health Care Assistant

Cornerstone Care 212 Ltd is a fifteen bed learning disabilities residential unit.
**Responsibilities**:
- To provide care for residents as required while supporting and promoting independence.
- Document clearly and accurately in the resident’s care plans and associated records required as part of this role.
- Provide emotional and practical support to service users.
Help service users meet their personal care needs sensitively and appropriately to a high standard, including personal hygiene.
- Fulfil laundry, general domestic duties and preparing meals and drinks as appropriate at all times.
- Support and participate in resident’s social and recreational activities in line with individual care plans, (including day trips) and holidays. This includes the onsite day care programme.
- Facilitate and support residents in decision making. Promote choice and involvement.
- Ensure all resident’s medical needs are met in partnership with them and records completed accurately.
- Following training and assessment administer medication in accordance with CC212 policies and procedures,
- Demonstrate a safe understanding of what to do in the case of a medical emergency.
- Ensure that Clients’ personal property and clothing is maintained to a high standard and report any requirements to the Registered Manager.
- Be aware of and understand all aspects of potential abuse ensuring that the resident’s safety and wellbeing is always upheld.
- Always maintain a professional and appropriate care worker / resident relationship.
- Encourage and enable Residents to maintain acceptable levels of personal and environmental hygiene.
- Fully understand the Regulation of Quality and Improvement Authority role, DHSSPS standards and ensure that you always implement them.
Experience and Qualifications
- Must have good communication skills verbal and written
- Preferably hold a level 2 in Health and Social Care.
- Preferably have a minimum of 1 years’ experience within the health care sector
- Preferably hold a full driving licence.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 12-40 per week
**Salary**: £10.92 per hour
