Section Engineer

A civil engineering contractor is recruiting a Section Engineer for a £25m highways project starting in West Sussex. They deliver schemes as a principal contractor and has a very professional main contractor approach in their site set up, quality of work,team structure and the clients they work for such as National Highways, HS2, the Environment Agency and local authorities.

The Section Engineer will be a key part of the team working on a 200+ meter structure as well as new road construction, pedestrian and cycle facilities before tying the road in at either end to local roads. Following completion of this project there is astrong order book on the South Coast which will keep you within a commutable distance from home every day.

Section Engineer duties include:

- Assist with quality control to ensure the standards are met in accordance to the design specifications
- Assist in producing permits to break ground (CAT Scanning management)
- Ensuring the highest health, safety and environmental standards are met on site adhering to the client's and business's requirement
- Liaise with the site team to approve materials ensuring they meet specification
- Keep accurate records of progress reports, site diaries and resource allocations
- Produce as-built drawings in AutoCAD
