Reporting to the Portbury Operations Manager, the individual will play a key role within the Main site operation. They will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the Portbury operation quality. They will assist in ensuring that all technical fitments and vehicle enhancements performed by the Workshop team fully comply with fitting instructions and adhere to the respective manufacture quality standards and specific requirements.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Lead and support the QC Team
- Promote the manufacture standards within the business.
- Be one of the Business’ leads supporting the annual manufacture audit.
- Lead the Depot’s support to manufacture mandated monthly audits.
- Carry out internal QC audits of all areas of the business to ensure compliance is being adhered to and report any findings to the management team. All audits to be record systematically to allow future analysis.
- Ensure that all members of the QC team have the relevant training and knowledge to carry out their role.
- Be transparent and report all QC issues and concerns to the Workshop Supervisor/Workshop Manager.
- Carry out root cause analysis on QC issues found to prevent reoccurrence.
- Minimise cost through efficient working practices.
- Implement customer policies & customer requirements within the department.
- Promote a Health & Safety culture within the business.
- Ensure accurate records are maintained for Training, Sickness, Holidays, Disciplines, Welfare & Attendance.
- Take the lead in the development and integration of ISO, particularly ISO 9001.
- Stand in for the Workshop Supervisor as and when required.
To be successful, you’ll bring some of the following experience with you:
- You should be self-motivated and flexible with the ability to work well on your own or as a team member and to be customer focussed. A good knowledge of BCA’s workshop IT Systems desirable but not essential.
- Experience in leading a team.
- Have a flexible attitude towards all Depot activities.
- Ability to work under pressure at Peak periods to meet vehicle ETA’s etc.
- Prioritisation of tasks and collect information effectively.
- A good technical background is desired.
- Be receptive to working overtime when required.
