Welcome & Service Assistant (Children and Young
5 days ago
Are you looking for a varied role working with young people?
A Welcome & Service Assistant (Children and Young People) plays a core part in providing experiences with fantastic customer service. Working within the bustling atmosphere of Mount Stewart and as part of the newly established Children and Young People’s Hub, this role involves interacting with children and young people, aged 0 to 25, across the property. You'll need to bring enthusiasm, energy, and a thirst for knowledge to inspire the young people you're working with.
What it's like to work here:At the East Down Property Group, our work varies from working in the beautiful house and gardens at Mount Stewart, to the bustling communities and diverse nature and landscape of Strangford Lough. The Treasure House contains a magnificent collection of historical artefacts and works of art, uncovered during the restoration project. This collection helps us bring to life the stories of the family throughout the generations - from the political exploits of Viscount Castlereagh to ‘Society’s Queen’ the 7th Marchioness Edith, Lady Londonderry and her family in the early 20th century. The 1000 acres within the walls, and shoreline of County Down gives us unique access to a wide range of natural habitats to deliver our programmes. The various teams of staff and volunteers work together to look after this wonderful place.
**Internally you will be known as Welcome & Service Assistant.**
What you'll be doing:Visitors of all ages are a vital part of what we do. As a Welcome & Service Assistant (CYP) working with children and young people, you'll provide an inspiring experience for our younger visitors, leaving a lasting legacy for their understanding of the world around us. Responsible for engaging children and young people with the nature, beauty and history of the site, you'll be outdoors in all elements as well as facilitating memorable and interactive visitor experiences in the Mount Stewart House.
You’ll deliver high standards of presentation at the property which may include costumed delivery to tell the stories in a more dynamic fashion as well as the delivery of environmental engagement on the demesne. Understanding how and why we engage our supporters is key. Working with our spirit of place you’ll work to link everything we do back to our cause and the on-going work we do.
