Exeter Airport’s catering team is searching for an enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to help shape the dining experiences of travellers from across the globe. **About the Role**:
Step into a position where your dedication and willingness to learn truly matter. As a Kitchen Assistant, you’ll support the kitchen brigade and work alongside our experienced Kitchen Manager, helping to ensure the smooth running of various food & beverage outlets across the airport. From prepping ingredients for sunrise breakfasts to keeping the kitchen spotless during busy departures, you’ll play a vital part in creating memorable meals for all our guests.

Note: Due to shift start times as early as 2:00 AM—and no public transport available at that hour—personal transport is essential.

**What You’ll Be Doing**:

- Assist in basic food preparation, such as chopping vegetables, assembling sandwiches, and portioning ingredients
- Keep kitchen and storage areas immaculately clean, following hygiene and food safety standards
- Help with washing up, cleaning equipment, and maintaining an organised workspace
- Receive and safely store deliveries, checking them against orders and reporting any issues
- Clear and sanitise work surfaces throughout your shift
- Support chefs in setting up and closing down kitchen stations
- Dispose of waste responsibly and assist with recycling procedures
- Work collaboratively with your team to ensure efficient, seamless service—even at the busiest times

**Who We’re Looking For**:
Essential:

- Basic food hygiene awareness (training can be provided)
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic
- Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and occasional evenings
- Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team
- Positive attitude towards learning and taking on new tasks

Desirable:

- Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment
- Level 1 Food Safety Certificate
- Good communication skills
