**JOB DESCRIPTION for SUPPORT STAFF**

**Job Title: Finance Officer**

**Salary Scale**:Grade 5 SCP 8-14 (£20,852-£23,484)

**Responsible to**:Office Manager / Finance Cluster Manager

To be responsible to the Office Manager for designated aspects of the day-to-day operation of all areas of finance within the Academy and to assist the Finance Cluster Manager of the

Trust (TCAT)

**Specific Duties**:

- To control the collection, banking and disbursement of all official monies within the

Academy and ensure that they are accounted for in accordance with financial regulations
- To ensure and support accurate processing of orders, purchase invoices and payments
- To ensure and support accurate processing of sales invoices and management of debt collection
- To control the Academy’s petty cash account
- To control the Academy’s commercial cards accounts
- To ensure prompt payment to suppliers
- To ensure and support accurate processing of journals required
- To update the fixed asset and contract and SLA registers
- To complete the bank reconciliation of all bank accounts on a regular basis including the requirement for month end
- To assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts by keeping critical month end schedules/documents up to date
- To extract financial information to provide budget holders with detailed reports
- To supervise the work of any assistants working in the Finance area and provide relevant training for staff as required
- To prepare any reports and information as requested

**General Duties**:

- To support school activities, attending appropriate school events.
- Any other duties deemed reasonable, as directed by the Principal.

**General Responsibilities of all Beamont Collegiate Academy Support Staff**:
a) To work consistently to uphold school’s aims. b) To work in a co-operative and polite manner with all stakeholders. c) To work with students and parents in a courteous, positive, caring and responsible manner at all times. d) To take an active and positive role in the school’s commitment to developing staff, and the annual review procedures. e) To work with visitors to the school in such a way that it enhances the reputation of the school.

f) To seek to improve the quality of the school’s service. g) To present oneself in a professional way that is consistent with the values and expectations of the school.
