Community Support Worker Driver

**Job Outline -**

**Personal Assistant**

To support a very special young lady who requires some support during the week whilst at college, as well as social supports.

**Post**

6hrs per week

Would suit a college student if studying at the same college on the same days and times. College is in Kilwinning

**Salary**

wage rate - £13.15 per hour, wages are paid 4 weekly in arrears

**Annual Leave**

5.6 weeks paid Annual leave pro rata based on your contracted hrs

**Days of work / times required**

M, T,W - college support to take and pick up from the college

1hr am - 8am - 9am

1 hr pm support - 3.30pm - 4.30pm

may suits students with a car that already attend Kilwinning College

**Job Purpose**

NOTE FROM HER FAMILY:
Where do I start to let you know a bit about a very special young lady who requires some support during the week.

Firstly you will be so lucky to meet her as she is so much fun and a loving person.

She has a condition called Fragile X (google it please) which means she has additional support needs and also Autism.

This doesn't stop her from having a variable and independent life. She just needs some help along the way. She needs to have a routine in place.

She is a vulnerable young lady who is never left on her own, risks are to high. She has short term memory loss, poor recall, high anxiety in certain situations and sensory processing.

Some examples is that she cant tell hot from cold, likes certain textures, loud noises can affect her, increase anxiety, likes to be secure.

She is now settled at college and loves being at the stables, loves horses. Music, concerts, musicals, films and singing is her big go to, Harry Styles is her best friend, if you don't know anything about him you soon will . I feel your pain.

She loves dining out but likes the same foods, Harbour Lights and Melbourne cafe are her favourites. She has her own dog a Cavapoochan called Charlie who is extremely friendly.

She’s a girly girl loves shopping, has loads, I mean loads of bags, enjoys hair and nail appointments. She is a big celebrity gossip fan for someone with poor recall she seems to remember what there up to etc and name that tune is one beat.

She’s also a bit of a gossip lol

We cant wait to have a new friend join our family.

**Employer**

You will be employed by the personal employer, who will be assisted to administer payroll and undertake the necessary employment support responsibilities by a relevant support organisation.

**Probationary period**
- There is a 6 month probationary period attached to the post
- Successful applicant will have to undergo a new or update of the PVG disclosure scheme and supply 2 up to date reference contacts prior to appointment

**Personalise as required**

You will be responsible for supporting the person to engage in all aspects of community life and activities as directed by

You will be assisting with getting to and from Kilwinning college on M,T,Weds.

There may be some scope to also cover some respite hrs, but this will be further in the future.

You will be required to have a driver’s licence and have business use on your car Ins.

Travel expenses will be paid for taking to and from college.

You may at times be required to provide companionship in her own home.

The young lady has a wide range of interests which has been declared in the previous information and it would be beneficial if you had some of these interests.

She is looking for someone with a good sense of humour, down to earth, likes a good blether and a bit of banter but is also a good listener and highly responsible.

You must have a full clean UK driving licence and own car, with business use on the Insurance

You must be flexible and reliable
