**INTERNAL AUDIT - INSIDE IR35 - 6 MONTHS**

**Our public sector client requires the expertise of a experienced Internal Auditor with experience working with the European Grant Programme.**

**Duties**:

- Delivery manage a team of 4 staff.
- Deliver closure milestones and any outstanding programme activities/requirements to required timescales, providing assurance on delivery to the Head of the Intermediate Body (IB) for Scotland.
- Manage and mitigate risks and issues, escalating to the Head of the IB as necessary.
- Engage with external stakeholders across UK government and within the European Commission.
- Ensure the Marine Directorate meets the requirements of the European audit processes for the client and manage the outcomes of these audits.
- Report on progress against delivery of milestones to the Head of the IB and to the Senior Leadership Team through the Directorate's Annual Delivery Plan reporting process.
- Establish and manage adequate and accurate documentation procedures for the closure programme and any outstanding programme activities/requirements.
- Take on other reasonable duties delegated by the Head of the IB as necessary.
- Prepare detailed handover documentation to pass on at the end of the contract period.

Essential Skills
- Collaborative leadership - the capacity to work effectively and collaboratively, and provide support and motivation to a team, taking account of individual skills and circumstances.
- Project Management skills - lead, manage and report upon a complex, cross-cutting project, working to tight deadlines and adapting to changing circumstances.
- Experience of delivering a European grant programme (as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds).
- Experience of closure of a European grant programme.
- Experience of liaison with external stakeholders across UK government and within the European Commission.
- Experience of European audit processes and managing the outcomes of these audits.
