Forklift Operator/site Operative

**Job Details**

**(a) Responsible to**:
Reception & Transfer Supervisor (Avonmouth)

**(b) Responsible for**:
FLT driving in Transfer Station and reception area and where needed on the site.

Keeping site clean and tidy and anything else deemed necessary by Senior Management

**(c) Collaborate with**:
Process Plant Supervisors

Reception & Transfer Supervisor

Other Operators on Avonmouth site

**Job Summary**
- Undertake loading and unloading of vehicles as required using a Forklift Truck
- Undertake logistics, drum and package handling within the Transfer and Reception areas.
- Undertake labelling and administration activity within the Transfer area when required
- Partake in the continuous improvement of the Transfer and reception areas.
- Undertake other duties within the Operations area as required.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Proactively support and embed a generative safety culture.
- Comply with site wide rules and requirements.
- Undertake work as required within the Transfer Station and reception area including, marking up, checking status of materials, labelling, etc. Flag up situations that don’t make sense, react as required/directed.
- Partake to ensure that Transfer Station and reception area KPI’s are achieved.
- Be a major player in ensuring a high standard of housekeeping in the Transfer and reception Area by own actions and those of others.
- Undertake training as necessary and partake in the improvement of the Transfer and reception area and site operations.
- Partake in the improvement of the Transfer and reception area, in particular initiatives to improve velocity of throughput and prevent materials getting locked in the area.
- Working in other areas of the plant as directed.
- Other tasks that could be reasonably expected to be performed.

**Critical Qualifications**
- Forklift licence (3 years) or prepared to train.
- Good numeracy and literacy skills

- Some process plant experience - understanding of the required behaviour.
- Ability to quickly learn new skills Ability to learn administrative receiving and despatch processes.
- Right first time work ethic.
