IT Infrastructure Specialist

Take the lead on Infrastructure elements of Digital projects working directly with the Trusts project managers, manage the implementation of Infrastructure projects.

Analyse, investigate and diagnose complex facts and situations when dealing with strategic or operational issues using appropriate resources to resolve the issues in a timely manner

Manage and support the end to end information infrastructure service across the organisation to ensure it is reliable, available and performs as agreed.
- Provide strategic technical direction and solution design across all core technologies, specialising in Networking, Telecoms and Servers.
- Lead on designing and implementing production environments to ensure alignment with trust growth plans and project initiatives.
- Take the lead on Infrastructure elements of Digital projects working directly with the Trusts project managers, manage the implementation of Infrastructure projects.
- Manage and support the end to end information infrastructure service across the organisation, participate in the departmental on call support rota
- Engage in strategic disaster recovery planning for all design aspects of technology infrastructure.

- CCNP Certification or equivalent experience
- 5 years in an Infrastructure Networking, Telecoms Senior Support role with experience of supporting a complex multi-vendor environment.
- Ability to work proactively under own initiative, take responsibility and demonstrate leadership.
- Handling complex technical and organisational issues and constraints.
- Experience of facilitating change in practice to improve services
- Leading technical elements of projects management/co-ordination
- Leading service changes to improve performance
- Extensive understanding of Technical LAN/WAN & Wireless Networking design and concepts
- Extensive understanding of TCP/IP concepts & theory
- Excellent understanding of Firewall, Network, Telecoms and Authentication protocols.
- Infrastructure documentation and change management concepts
- Experience of VPN and IPSEC solutions
- HSCN network and SIP Technology VOIP & Analogue Phone system support
- Knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Virtual Environments, Backups and SAN storage to assist in supporting Business as usual and projects.
- Ability to disseminate and interpret highly complex IT issues and communicate these in a clear way to staff at all levels of the organisation.
- Detailed understanding of current relevant technologies and working knowledge of clinical systems
- Ability to work under extreme pressure and produce high quality work to tight deadlines
- Ability to deal with many conflicting priorities and understand what is important
- Ability to cope with new and changing demands, dealing with complex issues requiring good analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
