**The Company**
We are working with a software business based in Newcastle who're looking to add a Test Engineer to their Software Delivery team.

As a Software Test Engineer you will be heavily involved in building and maintaining high quality software products and services used by clients all around the world.

This is an end to end testing position where you will be involved in everything from creating requirements/ user stories and test planning all the way through to user acceptance testing or test automation and everything QA in between.

You will work to introduce and uphold a passionate testing culture across the Software Delivery teams through techniques of collaboration, innovation, ownership, continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

Key to the success of this role is the hunger to learn on the job and expand your skillset.
Knowledge of Selenium, Cypress frameworks or similar is desired.

The role of a Software Test Engineer role will includes:

- Create and execute test plans and test scripts based on functional, non-functional and technical documentation.
- Effectively prepare and undertake User Acceptance Testing, Exploratory and Regressions Testing to ensure software quality remains high.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of automation test suites.
- Execute API testing.
- Develop an awareness and contribute to non-functional testing including performance, load and security testing.
- Identify, report and verify defects to a required standard working closely with the Software Delivery teams ensuring teams see them through to completion.
- Participate in and promote a culture of pair testing, code reviews and collaborating closely with other people.
- Participate in agile practices namely planning, stand up, reviews and retrospectives.
- Identify and implement quality improvements to aide continuous improvement within the software development lifecycle.
- Contribute to the development of our quality assurance principles and promote their adoption and adherence across Software Delivery teams.
- Help mentor, motivate and continually challenge other testing colleagues.
- Where required collaborate with external suppliers, partners and customers.
- Keep up to date with the latest developments in software testing.

**Role/Requirements**:

- Proven ability and achievement in software testing and quality assurance.
- Experience operating within an agile and DevOps delivery environment and be a passionate advocate of these practices.
- A logical thinker with the ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
- Ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels from across the business.
- Strong planning and organisational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A passion for quality and drive to improve quality.
- A passion for technology and committed to continuing professional development.
- API testing experience.
- Test automation experience or knowledge of Selenium, Cypress frameworks or similar knowledge of databases with the ability to write and execute queries.
- Accreditation in ISTQB Foundation Level or above is desirable but not essential.

The role is based in the centre of Newcastle Upon Tyne with hybrid working conditions,1-2 days a week in the office.
Salary is up to £45,000
