We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Trainee Commercial Assistant, to work out of either our Southampton or Stanford-Le-Hope port. This position will help the UK Commercial team by locating, pursuing, and putting into action fresh opportunities to draw in clients and business.

We need someone that is engaging, has strong communication skills, and takes a proactive approach to their work. Someone who is enthusiastic about business development and establishing relationships with clients and stakeholders. Additionally, travel for this position will be required between the two ports and to any events that may support business growth.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Work closely with the commercial team to develop and implement commercial strategies that will drive business growth and profitability in the logistics and supply chain space.
- Assist in conducting market research and analysing industry trends to identify opportunities for growth and expansion in this sector.
- Assist in managing and maintaining relationships with existing customers and suppliers in the logistics and supply chain field.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, marketing, and operations, to ensure seamless execution of commercial initiatives in the logistics and supply chain space.
- Assist in preparing proposals, negotiating contracts, and managing project timelines in this sector.
- Support the commercial team in meeting and exceeding sales targets in the logistics and supply chain space.
- Develop a deep understanding of the company's products, services, and target market within the logistics and supply chain sector

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Degree Level Qualified or Equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft office Suite or Project
- A passion to share a narrative through PowerPoint and other tools
- Awareness/ capabilities with cloud based collaboration tools such as MS TEAMS and other products
- CRM Awareness and experience
- Possess a Demonstratable passion for Commercial and industry with a desire to learn and grow Customer Solutions focused
- Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights within the logistics and supply chain field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders in the logistics and supply chain sector
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- A full valid UK driving licence or appropriate international licence allowing you to drive on UK roads
- No unspent criminal convictions
