Steward/ Marshal

Located in the heart of the city centre; CosyJoes is Newcastle's number one karaoke and party bar CosyJoes is one of Newcastle’s most popular and consistent venues, known for our lively atmosphere and diverse crowd — from student focused nights to stag and hen parties. We are seeking a professional, approachable, and proactive Hallway Steward to support the smooth and safe flow of guests throughout the venue.

Role Overview:
As a steward, you will play a key part in ensuring the safety, comfort, and overall experience of our guests, particularly during our busiest periods. Your presence helps maintain order, manage flow, and support our wider team during high-traffic times.

Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure all stairwells, exits, and key walkways remain clear and accessible
- Implement and oversee queuing systems where appropriate
- Maintain a one-way system in the venue during peak hours, particularly for the upstairs bar
- Communicate clearly and confidently with customers, explaining venue procedures in a positive and friendly manner
- Work collaboratively with door staff and management to ensure guest safety and smooth operations
- Provide general assistance across the venue as needed, adapting to various situations

What We're Looking For:

- A friendly and confident communicator with a people-first approach
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and approachable in busy or high-pressure environments
- Strong situational awareness and willingness to take initiative
- Comfortable working on your feet and engaging with guests throughout your shift
- A flexible team player who can adapt quickly and support different areas of the venue as needed
- Weekend availability is essential
