Learning Support Assistant

Empowering Learning are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to support within a small class of pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties and autism.
Key Responsibilities and duties
- To build and maintain successful relationships with the learner, treat them with respect and consideration
- Promote and reinforce independent learning through the use of learning tools and techniques specific to the learners needs
- Assist learners with their physical/personal care/medical needs promoting independence
- Develop study and organisational skills, helping to keep the learners on task and well-motivated
- Demonstrate and encourage good practice whilst helping build the learner's confidence and enhance self-esteem
- Help learners with their reading or other task where required
- Have formal and informal meetings with their Lecturer to contribute to planning lessons/activities
- Prepare materials, resources and learners beforehand for a task
- Support the Lecturer in implementing specific educational programmes
