**About our Learning Disability Team**

The Learning Disability Team provides an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in relation to working with individuals who have a Learning Disability/Autism. We work with the person to achieve their goals/outcomes and promote independence and autonomy using a strength based, person-centred approach. The Learning Disability Team take a proactive approach to development and undertake consistent Continued Professional Development sessions to improve confidence and knowledge. This goes hand in hand with the RMBC core training offer. There is a mixture of experienced and newly qualified staff within the team who all bring value and add to our positive culture. There is consistent management support that will help give direction and look out for your wellbeing. This team is on a positive trajectory and are keen to grow.

This is the opinion of a Social Worker who has been with the LD team less than a year: _“_Working as part of the My Front Door team, supporting adults with Learning Disabilities is a rewarding and challenging role. The team is constantly developing and evolving to provide the best service. The team is very supportive, and there is the opportunity to build good working relationships with partner agencies. The work is diverse and interesting with the opportunity to contribute your ideas to how the service is delivered”_

The team works collaboratively with other professionals, organisations/providers, carers and families. This team is pivotal in shaping and driving the learning disability transformation programme forward.

**About you**

We are looking for qualified and experienced social workers who share our vision and aspirations for people - social workers who want to make a difference.
- Root your practice in compassion, social work values and theories, understanding the _why _of what we do in our unique profession, to best promote people’s wellbeing.
- Be confident in working with situations of varying complexity and be able to make appropriate decisions quickly to support those in crisis, and to ensure people are seen and supported in a timely manner.
- Know how to work with our partner agencies to help people find solutions to maximise their independence and resilience, enabling people to take positive risks, and lead good lives.
