These duties may be carried out, both in patient and non-patient environments. To provide direction, guidance, and support to ensure the necessary duties are carried out to maintain a clean and hygienic environment within the hospital and associated areas.To carry out the audits required for specific areas
**Specific Responsibilities**
- Complete all relevant catering/domestic documentation and maintain accurate records for company systems including, sickness procedures, quality monitoring, training, and staff performance monitoring
- Liaise with operative staff under your control by way of discussions and regular team meetings ie performance reviews, job chats, return to work discussions and accident and other investigations.
- Effectively supervise, train, motivate, discipline, and ensure the safety and general welfare of staff under your control in accordance with the necessary policies, procedures including the training plan.
- Organise and allocate staff under your control to carry out the tasks required and maintenance of all hygiene standards within a designated area. Ensure that the work schedule and quality standards are adhered to in line with the specification.
- The receipt, storage and rotation of stocks in accordance with HACCP and supplies, to ensure that these are available as required within the designated area.
- Manage the safe storage and maintenance of appropriate stock and supplies and to ensure that these are available as required within the designated area. Ensure the effective delivery of the cleaning service within a designated area. Complying with agreedstaffing levels, work schedules and using appropriate methods of work, ensuring any service level agreement and quality standards are met in line with Company and Trust policies. _
- Ensure confidentiality, privacy and dignity is always maintained, in accordance with the Data Protection Act and in line with Company and Trust policy where appropriate.
- Conduct yourself in
- a professional manner whilst on Trust and Company premises
- The production and delivery of high quality, safe food service to patients including awareness of dietary needs.
- Take
- account and be responsible for the safe removal and, where appropriate, the recording of waste within your area of work in line with Company procedures and Trust policies.
- Ensure you and the staff under your control maintain a clean, neat and tidy appearance, complying with Company and Trust uniform, and hand care guidelines, and high standards of personal hygiene.
- Participate as required in regular team meetings, performance reviews, job chats, return to work discussions, recruitment and selection and co-operate with accident and other investigations.
- Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job, participate in appropriate training activities and encourage and support staff development and training
- Report immediately any faults or defects to Trust of Company equipment or premises, especially those which could be dangerous.
- Ensure patient confidentiality, privacy and dignity is maintained at all times in accordance with the GDPR regulations and in line with Company and Trust policy, where appropriate
- To follow the cash control procedures and Policies at the end of the trading day to ensure all cash takings are accounted for
- To work alongside the catering assistant in serving customers, washing up and clearing of the kitchen area
- Any other duties as may be reasonably requested within the grade of the post.
**Experience / Desired & Essential Qualifications**
- Experience in a previous Catering supervisory role
- Experience in Nutritional and allergen processes with a good understanding of all current laws and legislations
- Experience in Setting menu's both for Restaurant and Patient Services
- Experience managing staff
- Ordering and managing stock and storage
- A general understanding of Health and Safety legislator
- Strong communication skills - essential for client liaison
- Good attention to detail and high standards of work
- Good IT literacy
- To work along side the Domestic Supervisor in other duties that may be required
