The Role

In the heart of the small, friendly community of Radstock lives “Dante”a wonderful gentleman in his 40s who has learning disabilities and autism. “Dante” is looking to welcome into his home - and his life - people who are sincere and passionate about helping him continue living his best life - the life that he wants to live.

“Dante” has a wicked sense of humour; he loves to be outdoors (hence why we require people to have a driver’s license), he has a passion for recycling and visiting his local tip, and he enjoys unwinding in the evening in front of the television watching football or the soaps.

“Dante” would love to get to know - and become friends with - people who are calm, patient, warm-hearted, and upbeat to enjoy his hobbies with him; provide him with the deferential personal care he needs (when required), as well as offering him bespoke, inspirational emotional support and empowerment to encourage him to lead a richer, more rewarding life.

It’s important to note that “Dante” can demonstrate behaviours of distress, and as such, you will need to demonstrate patience, resilience, and remain positive and upbeat. You will receive full training and support from your colleagues in order to help you and “Dante” through these moments.

Therefore, as our newest team member, you’ll be accountable for:

- Proactively empowering and encouraging “Dante” to live as independently as possible; helping him to achieve his goals, take pleasure in his hobbies and try/experience new things, whilst helping him accomplish the smallest of daily tasks that most people take for granted. You'll achieve this by being sincerely and enthusiastically engaged in every aspect of his life - day or night
- Inspire “Dante” with personalised emotional support and reassurance
- Present bespoke, attentive prompting and personal care and mealtime support as/when required.
- Safeguard “Dante” always by ensuring he’s continually happy and comfortable, and that the environments he’s in are always tidy, sanitary, and free form risk.

Why This is a Life-Changing Opportunity
- This is not your typical “9-5” - This is a very social role where no two days are ever the same You’re guaranteed to face exciting, new challenges every day that will not only have positive impacts in the lives of those we support, but yours too
- No more time-consuming, costly commutes to worry about - you'll only be supporting “Dante” in his home
- Receive fully funded, on-going training - we provide all the resources, including mentoring, to help you reach your full potential
- Genuine career prospects - at Dimensions, there are no glass ceilings and anything is possible We'll motivate and support you to get you to where you want to be in your career
- Job security and satisfaction - our roles are not only richly rewarding, we ensure our colleagues have enviable work-life balances too
- Generous colleague benefits - including discounted health and dental care; up to 35 days holiday, financial support in learning to drive, and monthly colleague recognition schemes, etc.
- A positive, inclusive, and supportive work environment that champions mental health wellbeing and celebrates diversity

An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required for this role, the cost of which will be incurred by Dimensions.
- As Disability Confident Leaders, we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy - Dimensions has been awarded this symbol by Jobcentre Plus to recognise our commitment towards the employment, retention, training and career development of disabled employees
- We now have British Sign Language (BSL) translated videos for all of our recruitment communications.
