Specialist Respiratory Physiologist Band 6

An exciting and permanent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Specialist Respiratory Physiologist to join the Lung Function team based at UHL.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
JOB PURPOSE
1. To ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times
2. To perform all diagnostic tests and several complex tests effectively and accurately.
3. To ensure the appropriate calibration of equipment, maintain its correct working order and conduct routine quality control and maintenance where necessary
4. To carry out all duties and tasks in a manner which ensures patient comfort and safety, whilst maintaining accuracy.
5. Be able to demonstrate a good level knowledge underpinning each of the tests in the department
6. To be conversant and comply with Health Board and Departmental policies and procedures.
7. To identify and report any serious abnormalities in results to team leaders.
8. To assist in training of other health professionals/trainees
9. To be a Clinical Educator for the BSc. Healthcare Science course from Swansea University who are on placement within the Lung Function department.
10. To assist in supervising junior staff.
11. To assist in research and audit procedures as appropriate.
12. Interact with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the patient receives the correct care
13. To maintain appropriate stock levels by monitoring stock control and informing senior staff of the required levels.
14. To have knowledge and practical experience in performing ECGs
