Organon is hiring a Senior Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Specialist to join our team based at our world class manufacturing site in Cramlington, Northumberland. In this role, you will be providing cross functional advice and support to our Engineering, Quality Laboratories, Manufacturing and Technical Operations. You will work to deliver the compliance of the site management system with company standards and UK legislation. As part of this role, you will also support the delivery of key Capital Projects.
**Role Responsibilities**:
- Act as a deputy to the site SHE Lead in their absence.
- Provide SHE leadership and support to the various operational functions across site to ensure safe and compliant operation.
- Support and maintain key site hazard identification and risk management programs, eg risk assessment, manual handling, COSHH, Permit to Work, Loss prevention, HAZOP as well as site registers.
- Project manage site SHE projects and initiatives.
- Provide expert guidance and surveillance to engineering or site capital projects regarding SHE compliance, standards and management of change.
- Support the emergency management organisation and arrangements for the site.
- Conduct SHE training / coaching activities as required.
- Investigate SHE incidents to establish root cause, appropriate corrective/preventative action.
- Compile and perform trend analysis of incident information.
- Support delivery of the site SHE inspection, monitoring and audit programmes.
**Qualifications, Skills and Experience**:
- Degree in Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
- EHS related certification such as NEBOSH Diploma - Occupational Health and Safety Management.
- Knowledge of ISO standards eg. ISO14001 and ISO45001 is preferred but not essential.
- Membership in Professional Institute eg. IOSH, IEMA, IRM (Tech, Grad or Full Member) is preferred but not essential.
- Relevant technical and operational knowledge.
- Good communication skills, excellent team leadership capabilities and the ability to influence.
