Cloud and Ai/ml Lead

Cloud and a modernized data marketplace are key components of this strategy. A consistent platform to provide API data services to external clients, to source, store and disseminate data and to drive the adoption of Cloud technologies across Securities Services to ensure we deliver our services upon stable and scalable infrastructure.

The Engineering Lead Analyst sits within the Data, Digital and Innovation group under Securities Services Information Management. The Engineering lead is responsible for the overall success of the Cloud and AI/ML program. This person must have adequate knowledge and information about the business and technology to be able to make informed decisions and ensure that a collaborative approach to working is adopted and have previous experience of Big Data, Cloud & AI/ML. This role is expected to work in close partnership with other IT Leads and Managers, Product and Operations counterparts in ensuring coherent and complete project delivery for our Securities Services clients and may require direct interaction with those clients.

This position reports to the Cloud and Data Platform Lead SST Information Management and matrix to SST Information Management Architecture Lead

**Responsibilities**:

- Establish and lead an elite engineering unit focused on building core components to support our businesses’ Data and Analytics capabilities for use across SST
- Create technology solutions and work in partnership with internal IT teams and with Cloud providers to accelerate public cloud Adoption and harness associated emerging technologies
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues
- Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards
- Provide evaluative judgement based on analysis of facts in complicated, unique, and dynamic situations including drawing from internal and external sources
- Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, as well as communicate with external parties as necessary
- Foster a culture of innovation and engineering excellence across the Enterprise: modern engineering practices, adoption of open source and open standards, creating a culture of collaboration and efficiency

**Experience**
- Extensive years of relevant experience
- Hands On Experience in Cloudera, Cloud (AWS or Google), AI/ML
- Experience managing global technology teams
- Working knowledge of industry practices and standards
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Deep expertise as a hands-on technical leader working on complex systems in a large organization, structuring, establishing, and leading multiple product-centric engineering teams
- Deep engineering expertise building scalable Data products, with a practitioner understanding of Data warehousing, messaging, distributed Data architectures, and establishing Data platforms to support complex Analytical usage, including Operational ML use cases
- Experience driving software delivery transformation through Agile practice and process, with a focus of establishing Continuous Delivery culture and process
- Expertise in Cloud platforms and associated Developer Toolchains, DevOps models, and best practice
- Exceptional communicator who loves working with people, confident communicating at all levels from an individual team to the entire enterprise
- Highly credible hands-on engineer, confident to deep dive into a product and codebase and offer detailed, constructive analysis and feedback
- Well-developed technical written communication skills and able to effectively use internal social media platforms to communicate across the group

**Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
