Specialist Grade in Geriatrics and Frailty

For entry to the Specialty Grade Doctor, applicants will have completed a minimum of 12 years’ medical work (either continuous period or in aggregate) since obtaining a primary medical qualification of which a minimum of six years should have been in a relevant specialty in the Specialty Doctor and/or closed SAS grades. Equivalent years’
experience in a relevant specialty from other medical grades including from overseas will also be accepted.
- The post offers excellent experience in all aspects of acute General and Care of the Elderly Medicine. Doctors in all disciplines who are considering a career in Care of the Elderly / Frailty are encouraged to apply
- The appointee will be based at ether Queens or King George Hospital, but this may change depending on service need. All post holders will be expected to cover the full on call rota pattern
We are recruiting 3 x Specialist Grade Doctors within the division of Geriatrics and Frailty. This is a full time substantive contract post.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative professional to join a growing team of Geriatricians with varying interests and skills to enhance and develop our current service provision. The Department currently provides specialist services for acute frailty, falls, dementia, orthogeriatrics, surgical liaison, Parkinson’s disease. The Trust is keen to develop an outstanding geriatric service and is looking for a highly motivated and innovative physician to supplement the present team.
Post holders will be joining an experienced team of eight Consultants he Specialty. You will be working in partnership with Consultant colleagues, trainees, junior doctors, matrons, ward managers, nursing and therapy teams as part of a well-established multi-professional team.
